Ambassador Program

The RTI Donor Services Donor Family Ambassador program provides opportunities for tissue donor families to share their talents and experiences by volunteering.

An Ambassador is a volunteer who shares his or her story of donation and conveys a positive message about tissue donation to others.

These volunteers can speak at hospitals, health fairs, community events and more. Donor Family Ambassadors may be accompanied by members of the RTI Donor Services team at the specific event. Ambassadors also are encouraged to attend donor family events hosted by RTI.

Specific activities that our Ambassadors may be involved in can include sharing their stories with the community, with healthcare professionals or with other donor families and listening to other donor family members and answering questions.

Voices of Donation

“We never met either of Meagan’s donor families, but we always felt a connection with them. If it were not for them, we would not have had 17 incredibly amazing years with Meagan.”

“Her last unselfish act in life was to give the gift of life to others and for her grieving family, it was a great consolation to think that in a sense, Amy would still be with us.”

– John Henderson, Amy's father

“Donation is helping Evan to live on,” Jessica said. “It keeps his memory alive and we know that somewhere out there someone has a part of him and is living a better life because of him.”

“I am forever grateful to the donor and their family who helped to restore my life and allow me to return to the things that I love to do.”
